Welcome to the
Archbishop John Carroll High School
Class Of 1961 web site

Well the Reunion Weekend is now sadly over.  We have heard comments from some classmates that they were sorry that weekend had to come to an end.  However, with this website, the reunion never has to end.  The committee made the decision a few months back to keep this website up and running to allow for everyone to continue to keep in touch.  So the good times do not have to end with Sunday, September 18, 2011.

If you have not yet done so, please take the opportunity to log on and create your personal profile and let everyone know what you have been doing since your graduation 50 years ago! You can use this site to reconnect with classmates and help us to find friends we have lost touch with.

If you attended the Reunion dinner on Saturday and/or any of the other events and have pictures you would like to share, you can upload them onto your profile pages, or you can send copies either by email or snail mail to Walter’s assistant Lynn Cooley, and she will be happy to upload them at your direction to your profile page or the event page(s).  If you upload your pictures yourself and need help, Lynn is happy to assist you and is only a phone call away (240-553-1104).

Individual Photographs taken by the reunion photographer at dinner Saturday evening have been uploaded to your profile pages when they are received.  The professional photos are also on Reunion Attendees just after each classmate's yearbook photo (then and now).  Photos from Frank Roddy have also been uploaded.  Steve Abbott’s pictures will be uploaded to the appropriate event pages.  Pictures taken Saturday evening with the table cameras will also be utilized.

As was announced at Caroll Sunday Morning, September 18, 2011, we will have annual dinners each September for classmates and spouses.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Welcome to the Archbishop Carroll High Class Of 1961 web site. The Class of 1961 Reunion Committee, chaired by Walt Laake, will be using this website to communicate our plans for the 50th class reunion, scheduled for the weekend of September 16, 17 and 18, 2011 in the Washington D.C. area.

Please take the opportunity to log on and create a profile so we can keep you informed of planning progress. You will also be able to use this site to reconnect with classmates and help us to find friends we have lost touch with. A 50th reunion is an amazing milestone and we want to try to get as many of us as possible together for an evening or perhaps, a weekend of good times and fond memories.

To wit:

How many of you recall with affection that line: " Mr. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _, Fr. Cyril Smith wants to see you down at your locker,  right now!"

Great news, classmates! I've learned that there will be a memorabilia auction at the reunion. I'm not supposed to say anything, but this is too good to hold. Fr Mudd, in his constant quest for funds, has obtained some of the things that made our Carroll experience so special available for silent auction.

Item 1. Charlie Lefebure's tie that he wore everyday as a Carroll student and coincidentally, used in some of his experiments in med school.

Item 2. Bob Wilson's Edsell.

Item 3. Angelo Sparacino's purple pants, once removed from his body by seniors during an outdoor recess.

Item 4. The trash can Tom Hoover used to stuff John Mudd.

Ther could be lots more.
